WAXHAW -- James D. Tabor Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2008.
Jim was born in Clover, S.C., on July 21, 1927, to the late Etheleen Michael and James Tabor Sr. After growing up in Asheville, N.C., Jim joined the U. S. Navy, where he served proudly as an aerial photographer in WWII. After a career with BellSouth, he retired to a life of pleasure at "the farm." He was a member of Sharon Presbyterian Church. Jim was also an avid sports fan and passionately rooted for the North Carolina Tarheels. He will be missed as he was loved.
Jim is survived by his loving wife and soul-mate of 23 years, Nancy C. Tabor; daughter, Kelley; son, Mike; two stepsons, John and Daniel Britt; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his parents and daughter, Jamie.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a private family memorial service at Webb Creek Methodist Church in Gatlinburg, Tenn. and a second service at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Clover at a later date.
