FORT MILL -- John Jackson Welch III, 54, of Fort Mill, passed away, Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.
John was surrounded by his family when he went to be with his Jesus; his wife, who he dearly loved for 18 years, Lisa Welch; his children who he loved very much, Danny and Anna Blanks, Bradley Blanks, Jessie Welch; and his only granddaughter, Brittany Blanks.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 26, at Eastside Baptist Church, with Dr. Jim Neal and the Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. Graveside services will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
Born in Greer, S.C., to the late John Jackson Welch II and Eleanora Honeycutt Welch, he was employed as a supervisor with ADESA Auction, and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. His many ho0bbies included painting boats for his father-in-law at Marine Service, hunting and fishing with his children, coaching ball and he loved playing bass guitar for his church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Farmer Welch; two sons, Danny Blanks and his wife, Anna, Bradley Blanks and his girlfriend, Amber Maurer, all of Fort Mill; a daughter, Jessie Welch of Charlotte; his only granddaughter, Brittany Blanks; a sister and brother-in-law, Janice and William Norris of Myrtle Beach. Other family members include three sisters-in-law, Ginny Roux, Lynette Addison, Gail Love; brothers-in-law, Mike Roux, Billy Addison, Tommy Love; nieces, Lacie Riggins, Paige Addison, Taylor Roux, Addison Love; nephews, Will Addison, Tommy Miller, Greg Miller; father-in-law, Tommy Farmer; and mother-in-law, Nancy Quin.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., at Eastside Baptist Church.
