ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Helen Weaver Ray, 74, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Jimmy Garner officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery in Fort Mill.
A native of Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Ray was a daughter of the late Harley Weaver and the late Millie Phillips Weaver. She was a member of the Fort Mill Church of God and the widow of Richard Ray.
Mrs. Ray is survived by her sons, Joseph Ray of Rock Hill, Michael Ray of Charlotte and James Ray of O'Fallion, Ill.; her daughters, Sandra Mahaffey of Fort Mill, Barbara Herring and Lynda Austin, both of Rock Hill; her sisters, Brenda Long of Catawba and Darlene Sweatt of Rock Hill; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

The family will receive friends 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, Aug. 29, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill and other times at the home of her daughter, Lynda Austin, 1240 Old Coach Lane, Rock Hill.
