AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Mr. Charles Van Tritt, 64, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Robert Hensley officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.
Born in Shelby, N.C., Mr. Tritt was a son of the late Charles Lee "C.L." Tritt and Margaret Virginia "Margie" Tritt. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Tritt received his Bachelors Degree from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga. He was retired from I.B.E.W. in Charlotte, as an electrician. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta, S.C. Mr. Tritt enjoyed visiting nursing homes.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Joan Carrol Brown Tritt; his daughter, Tammie Barnard and her husband, Byron, of Augusta, Charity Rhodes of Grovetown, Ga., and Joy Lee Tritt of Augusta, Ga.; his sons, William Thomas Tritt of Augusta, Ga., and Joshua Lee Tritt of Fort Bragg, N.C.; his sister, Brenda Hensley of York, S.C.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Van Tritt Jr.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 30, 2008, at Wolfe Funeral Home and other times at the home of his brother-in-law, John Brown, 312 Sidney Johnson St., Fort Mill.
