South Carolina parents and students launched their annual rush for back-to-school items Friday, flocking to stores for the state's 11th annual Sales Tax Holiday.
The tax-free weekend continues through midnight Sunday.
Many stores are offering extended hours, sales and other incentives to lure customers in over the long shopping-fest.
The holiday eliminates the 6 percent to 8 percent sales tax charged in South Carolina for many items used for school and college.
Never miss a local story.
