It is with great amusement that I watch the circus unfolding in Minnesota and Mississippi, where once again QB Brett Favre has chosen to retire. Or not, who knows? Call me in a month.
That's why it was so funny when Panthers QB Matt Moore loped through the lobby of the student union amid the latest volley of round-the-clock ESPN coverage.
Asked if he had a press conference called, or any announcements to make, Matt looked a bit shocked, and shook his head.
"No, I don't think so," he said.
Asked if his December win over the Vikings -- which moved him to 1-0 against Favre in his career -- might have been part of the reason for the announcement, Moore shrugged.
"My fault guys," he joked, before throwing in a "no comment" as he was whisked away.
Seeing a quarterback who has made the last decade about himself makes you appreciate Moore. It hasn't been about him much since he left Hart High.
He's also handling everything thrown at him this camp with such an easy grace it's hard not to admire.
Others might have recoiled in jealousy at all the attention Jimmy clausen's getting (though Clausen doesn't seek it), but if Moore's angry it's hard to tell.
He's just here, doing his job, doing it well, with no announcements planned.
