Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said on his conference call Wednesday that Panthers WR Muhsin Muhammad contacted them to vouch for recent acquisition Mark Bradley. The Chiefs signed the former Chicago second-rounder, who Muhammad played with during his three years with the Bears.
Muhammad called KC's pro personnel director Ray Farmer (who used to co-host a sports talk radio show here) to put in a word for Bradley.
"He called on that kid’s behalf to say what kind of kid he was," Edwards said. "That says something about a pro football player. To take time to call a team where a guy is gonna go and have a tryout. His message was important because he knows the kid, and he spoke highly of him. When you get a veteran like him to do something like that, I think that’s special."
