The Panthers couldn't withstand their lack of defensive line depth, particularly when DT Damione Lewis (shoulder) wasn't able to finish. They obviously missed NT Maake Kemoeatu, though the whole line leaked.
"We didn't play well at all up front," DE Julius Peppers said. "When they run for 301 yards, that's where the blame must go."
Never miss a local story.
-- The Panthers locker room was subdued, as you might expect.
"There's a lot more anger and despiar inside than anything else," QB Jake Delhomme said.
-- The defensive players were taking it personally, and rightfully so.
"If you told me our offense scored 28 points and we lost, I'd have laughed at you," SS Chris Harris said. "This is our fault."
Harris also narrowed his gaze, and hoped for a chance to run it back.
"I hope we do (see the Giants again)," he said. "It would have been better to be at our place, but I really want to see them again."
