We wrote this morning that new coach Ron Rivera has talked to three of John Fox's former assistants about staying on, but the rest are looking for work elsewhere.
Fox himself interviewed in Denver yesterday, and would provide a landing spot for several if he gets that job. But otherwise, the scramble has begun.
Former offensive coordinator Jeff Davidson is talking to Minnesota about a position on coach Leslie Frazier’s staff (likely as an offensive line coach). Former quarterbacks coach Rip Scherer has accepted a job at the University of Colorado in the same capacity.
As for outside help, the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday that Bears assistant special teams coach Chris Tabor was “a likely candidate,” to join Rivera’s staff. Tabor’s working under Bears special teams coach Dave Toub, who is close with Rivera.
