With both teams sporting camouflage uniforms in support of the military, Nation Ford and Fort Mill High battled for the season series.
The Jackets entered the game with the Region 4-AAA title in hand and ranked No. 1 in the state in Class AAA. Their 7-5 victory Friday capped a perfect 10-0 run in region play.
Jackets coach Brad Mercer said the team has come a long way this season after missing the playoffs for the past three years.
"We have a group of guys that never gave up," Mercer said. "After three years of not making the playoffs, you question what you were doing, but this was the goal from the start of the season."
Never miss a local story.
