Rock Hill pianist Ann Herlong will perform a recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Winthrop University's Barnes Recital Hall. The program will include compositions by Scarlatti, Mendelssohn, Ravel and Chopin. Herlong won third place in 2004 in the prestigious Van Cliburn International Amateur Piano Competition in Fort Worth, Texas. She also was awarded the prize for best in Baroque performance. The next Van Cliburn competition will be in 2011. Herlong continues to study and perform, and teaches private piano lessons in her home.
A Decadent Dreams chocolate festival will be from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Williams & Fudge site at the Cotton Factory at Dave Lyle Boulevard and White Street in downtown Rock Hill.

he Chester Police Department considered Lt. Tommy Harrison family. That family is mourning after the death of Harrison this week from what appears to be a heart attack, said Police Chief Mike Brown.
