Family Trust wins national training award
Family Trust Federal Credit Union's senior management team recently won first place for excellence in training at the Credit Union National Association's ELLy Awards, the company announced.
The ELLy Awards recognize credit unions for excellence in learning and performance. The Training Champions award was given to Family Trust for the management team's vision, involvement, leadership and development of the credit union's training initiatives.
Parker Bennett joins Invest Financial
Parker Bennett of Clover has joined Invest Financial, located at Family Trust Federal Credit Union, as an associate wealth adviser, the company recently announced.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Parker began his career with Prudential Securities. His primary focus will be to provide his expertise in risk management and investment planning to younger audiences in York County.
Ebony Brown passes ACH exam
Ebony Brown, a Family Trust Federal Credit Union automated clearing house accountant, recently passed the Accredited Automated Clearing House professional examination, the company announced this week.
Brown's designation is given by the National Automated Clearing House Association. With this certification, Brown, a 2004 Winthrop University graduate, is recognized industrywide as an Accredited ACH Professional.
Buffett investing in Marmon Holdings
CHICAGO -- Warren Buffett's investment company announced Tuesday it will pay $4.5 billion for 60 percent of Marmon Holdings, a private company of more than 125 manufacturing and service businesses.
Berkshire Hathaway, based in Omaha, Neb., said it plans to acquire the remaining 40 percent of Marmon over the next five to six years depending on future earnings of Marmon, according to a statement released Tuesday by both companies.
Marmon is owned by trusts for the benefits of the Pritzker family of Chicago, the family that developed the Hyatt Hotel chain.
