Terex acquires Hydra Platforms
Rock Hill-based Hydra Platforms has been acquired by the Terex Corp., according to a Terex news release.
Hydra Platforms is a manufacturer of truck- and trailer-mounted under-bridge access equipment used for bridge construction, maintenance and inspection. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hydra Platforms will become part of the Terex Roadbuilding segment and will work with the company's Bid-Well subsidiary, the release states. Bid-Well is the leading manufacturer, seller and service provider of bridge paving equipment in the United States.
Herald and Observer to host career fair
More than 12 area companies will be represented Wednesday as The Herald, The Charlotte Observer and Careerbuilder.com present their first joint career fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Baxter Hood Center on Anderson Road in Rock Hill. The event is free.
Area residents can discuss the details of dozens of available jobs with business representatives, as well as learn about a variety of programs in the region that can assist job seekers of all skill levels.
Positions available from participating businesses include work in sales, integrated health-care service, electronic security, medical professionals, account manager, distribution and shipping supervisor, data entry, packaging supervisor, accounting and finance, groundskeepers and residential counselors.
Some businesses expected to participate are ADT Security, Queen City Audio/Video/Appliances, AFLAC, Agape Senior, Arby's, Hunter Hollis, Maxim Staffing Solutions of Charlotte, OEM Inc., Winthrop University, York Place, Strayer University, The Herald and The Charlotte Observer.
Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes.
