Carowinds’ new offerings for 2015 will be more than just rides that climb higher, drop faster, spin, twist or turn. The theme park is expanding hours and adding events.
A new spring event is the “Taste of the Carolinas,” which runs Saturdays and Sundays from April 18 to May 17. The event will feature foods from South Carolina and North Carolina, from wild boar ravioli, to Calabash seafood and barbecue. Locations in the park will offer tasting-sized entrees. There will also be craft beer and wine samplings.
New hours include an opening weekend of March 28-29 and spring break from March 30 to April 12.
Other summer events include a Friday night concert series at Harmony Hall, and “Dive-In Movies” at Boomerang Bay waterpark.
“Of course we’re excited about the thrills from the new Fury 325 roller coaster – and the fact that we’ll now have two of the 10 tallest roller coasters in North America,” said Mike Fehnel, Carowinds vice president and general manager. “But...the wide range of events we have this year...provide many new experiences for all members of the family.”
