Rock Hill’s Ed Currie hoping to turn pepper fame into fortune

In November of 2013, Ed Currie’s “Carolina Reaper” pepper was officially named the world’s hottest chilli pepper by Guinness Book of Records. Now, two plus years later, Currie hopes to turn that fame in fortune with a global business and Fortune 500 customers. He wants to grow, process and ship his peppers all from Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Fallen tree in Rock Hill stops traffic in both ways on Dave Lyle Boulevard

A large oak tree fell sometime Monday afternoon in Rock Hill, blocking traffic in both directions. The tree is located just after the intersection of Aragon Street and Dave Lyle Boulevard, heading toward Interstate 77.
