CHESTER -- A 36-year-old Chester man suspected of selling pornographic DVDs that showed women having sex with animals turned himself into authorities Tuesday, police said.
Police charged Mark Wayne Long Jr. of 610 Winslow St. with distributing obscene material, said Detective Scott Thompson of the Chester County Sheriff's Office.
On Nov. 26, police searched Long's house, where they discovered more than 1,500 pornographic DVDs, Thompson said.
It was unclear if the women seen on the DVDs live in Chester or surrounding cities or towns, Thompson said. Authorities also do not know if Long participated in producing the DVDs, he said.
Authorities also seized 150 counterfeit CDs containing music, 1,300 DVDs of newly released movies, a small amount of marijuana and Long's computer, Thompson said.
Long faces up to a five-year prison sentence if convicted on the obscenity charge, Thompson said. Long also could face multiple trademark violations as well as charges of selling counterfeit DVDs, police said.
During a bond hearing Tuesday, Long's bond was set at $10,000. An official from the Chester County Detention Center said Long was released on bond later in the day.
