A 50-year-old Rock Hill man has been charged in connection with an assault on a Winthrop University student last month.
Authorities on Monday charged Loyd Alan Price of 219 Columbia Ave. with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, an arrest warrant states.
The charge stems from an incident after a 20-year-old female student walked out of Winthrop's Kinard Hall on March 26.
According to the warrant, Loyd approached the victim from behind, grabbed her arms, slammed her into the building, tried to remove her clothing and raised her shirt.

A Winthrop University Police report states the victim told police the man said she looked sexy as he held her against the building.
In a press release issued Tuesday, Winthrop Police Chief Frank Zebedis credited community cooperation for Price's arrest and said such incidents are uncommon on the campus.
Price's criminal history includes criminal domestic violence charges, according to the State Law Enforcement Division.
Price, whose bond was set at $25,000, remained in custody Tuesday at York County Detention Center.
