Someone stole more than $2,200 worth of tools and lawn equipment from two operations buildings at Historic Brattonsville, according to a York County Sheriff's Office report.
They entered the building sometime over the weekend by removing locks from the doors, the report stated.
Never miss a local story.
Among items stolen were two weed eaters, a generator, blue compressor, chainsaw, nail gun and cutting torch, with a total value of $2,275.
Deputies checked for finger prints, but were unsuccessful. There are no suspects listed on the report.
The buildings were in the maintenance area behind Hightower Hall, about 3/4 mile from the public village, said Jeannie Marion, spokeswoman for Culture & Heritage Museums, which includes the 775-acre Revolutionary War site near McConnells.
The public village has an alarm system, but the maintenance buildings don't, Marion said.
“We'll assess this situation and see what we can do to prevent this from happening again,” Marion said.
