Rock Hill ChristmasVille organizers plan for a special Santa Claus event to take place at night this year to better accommodate families with children.
ChristmasVille’s annual traditional arrival of the jolly old elf – who typically shows up in the morning – will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The ninth annual ChristmasVille, a four-day festival, includes children’s activities and a parade around downtown Rock Hill.
Organizers are keeping Santa’s specific ChristmasVille arrival plans secret. In past years, he’s made splashy appearances by helicopter, parachute and motorcycle, delighting children and families waiting on Main Street.
Never miss a local story.
On Tuesday, families can welcome Santa at the newly opened Fountain Park at 300 E. Main St. in downtown Rock Hill. Afterward, activities will be held near the corner of Saluda and Black streets.
The free event will feature music by chorus groups from Rosewood Elementary and Saluda Trail Middle schools. Organizers also will light a Christmas tree.
