For those ready to end the Christmas season, York County residents can get rid of Christmas trees for free – but they will have to drop off the tree at one of the county’s 16 recycling and waste collection centers.
Real trees can be taken to any of the centers until Jan. 31. The centers also will collect and recycle boxes, wrapping paper, and other items.
All 16 sites are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The centers are closed Jan. 1.
For a full list of sites, go to the York County website at ww.yorkcountygov.com/CollectionAndRecyclingCenters.
Never miss a local story.
Rock Hill residents who are trash customers don’t have to take their trees to the collection center. City trash customers can leave trees with lights and decorations removed curbside for pick-up with any other yard waste, said Katie Quinn, spokeswoman for the city of Rock Hill.
