York Mayor Eddie Lee has been chosen for a statewide historic preservation award for his efforts to marshal public support to save the historic York County Courthouse. The award is given by the Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation, the S.C. Department of Archives and History and the governor’s office.

Following issues about picking up food at the Charlotte center, CAAC filed for a grievance hearing. Second Harvest put CAAC on a one-year probation. Rather than meet the terms, CAAC’s board voted to sever ties.
York police were called after an irate drive-thru customer at Wendy’s assaulted an employee by throwing a drink on her when she discovered she was missing her French fries. The fast-food employee insisted she gave the woman fries.
