YORK -- Piedmont Medical Center on Monday formally broke ground on a new internal medicine practice that will bring new doctors and expand access to health care to the city of York and surrounding communities.
Piedmont Internal Medicine at York will be located at 1795 Devinney Road at the corner of East Liberty Street next to Yorkville Pharmacy. One new internal medicine physician will open the practice this fall, with two additional internists joining the practice by late 2009.
"Piedmont is here in York, and with today's groundbreaking we're reaching out to bring more services closer to our neighbors," said Charlie Miller, Piedmont president and chief executive officer. "Primary care doctors are the front line of good health care. It's important that their numbers grow as York grows."
The new practice will offer a full line of services including exam rooms, procedure rooms, a laboratory, digital imaging X-ray services, and waiting areas.
