A tax assistance program administered through the AARP Foundation in with the Internal Revenue Service will offer free help with federal and state income tax returns.
From now until Thursday, April 14, IRS-trained volunteers will be available at the Clover Public Library, 107 Knox St. This service will be available from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays.
The program is available to all residents, with special consideration given to the elderly and low- and moderate-income taxpayers.Tax returns will be electronically filed to assure prompt refunds, generally within 10 to 14 days. Taxpayers should bring all necessary information, such as W-2s, 1099s and a copy of last year’s return.
