Edwin McCain will help the Sylvia Theater’s 2011 renovation with a live concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
Opening act will be York Comprehensive High School student Alex Boley, who will perform three songs.
The more than 100-year-old Sylvia Theater on Congress Street, with the help of PSN owners and Paul Finnican, has created a more comfortable environment to bring in the 2011 year.
The first-run movies are shown with a Dolby sound system for increased clarity and effects.
The concerts stage has added 18 lights for better theatrical shows. The concession area has added a separate counter to add new products to be served during the shows, including fresh coffee, cupcakes and specialty wines.
The renovation includes new floors and 162 comfortable new seats added with new cup holders.
