The Sylvia Theater is inviting the community to help it celebrate two milestones the weekend of Aug. 9 to 12 — the 75th anniversary of the theater’s history and the 10th anniversary of its reopening as a performance venue and movie theater.
These events are planned:
Never miss a local story.
The Overmountain Men, who are making their first appearance at the Sylvia as a band, are led by Childers and Bob Crawford. The other band members are Scott Dailey, Randy Saxon, Robert Childers and Geoffrey White.
Brunson, who has toured the Southeast and opened for the likes of Nanci Griffith, Lyle Lovette and the Charlotte Pops, will be joined by Donnie Fletcher and Marisa Page.
Doors open at 8:30 p.m. for the 9 p.m. concert. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets are available in advance at the Sylvia box office, online at www.sylviatheater.com and at Sports Fans Ink in downtown York.
Former Sylvia employees are still being sought. For information, call 803-293-6064 or email email@example.com.
