Police in Rock Hill and Clover responded this week to reports of thefts of school-issued iPads and personal electronics, according to reports from the York County Sheriff’s Office.
At Rock Hill High on Friday, a teacher told deputies that three Ipads valued at about $400 each were stolen from his classroom between last year and the end of January. The teacher told police he tried to use the tracking iCloud application to find them but was unsuccessful.
The teacher said he did not report the thefts right away because he did not know the school’s protocol for reporting, then the school assisted him in setting up the proper procedure for both issuing the iPads and that all future incidents should be reported immediately.
In Clover on Thursday, deputies and Clover Police Department officers charged two juveniles after an iPhone, iPod, and $70 in cash was stolen from the Clover High School locker room and recovered at the school district’s Blue Eagle Academy, according to a police report.
