Bible study, movies, dad dance offered in Clover
Explore Adam Hamilton’s book, “24 Hours That Changed The World.” Focus on one chapter a week and come together for a video, discussion and exploration. Topics include the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane, condemned by the righteous, the Crucifixion and Christ the victor. The book costs $12, available through the church or at cokesbury.com.
The church also will hold Movies and the Cross from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Lent.
Session combines Bible passages with movie clips to explore the Bible and the themes of suffering, sacrifice, love, prayer and persistence. Each session stands on its own, so come for one night or for all sessions.
Child care will be provided through the church. However, those needing infant care should call ahead. Bring a Bible.
Call 803-222-3496 for information on any of the events.
Community invited to join challenge
For every mile walked, run or cycled, the church will donate 25 cents to a local or global charity of the participant’s choice. For every pound lost and every day someone stops smoking during Lent, the church will donate 25 cents to a chosen charity. The church will challenge up to $5,000.
The church challenge runs on an honor system with participants tracking their miles, weight and days not smoking.
Forms to participate are available at the church office at 5220 Crowders Cove Road and at goodsamumc.org. For more information, call 803-831-0304.
