Clover Pop Warner plans 5K run

Last year, the Clover program grew to more than 175 children and the teams competed in local bowl games, while the cheerleaders qualified for the national competition and traveled to Walt Disney World.
Sixteen student athletes have been named Pop Warner National Scholars and will be recognized for their academic excellence at Disney World in May.
National Scholars are Josh Marr, John Robert Good, Reagan Wood, Ross Lewis, Ali Simon, Harper Love, Aryana Johansen, Jeremy Ogle, Sydnee Taylor, Cole Stevens, Alyssa Grana, Kyle Musae, Hayden Johnson, Austin Clark, Matthew Throughman and Matthew Courtwright.

Clover walking group meeting
The walking club is for beginners but everyone is welcome to participate. Registration is not necessary; just show up with walking shoes, comfortable clothing, water and sun protection. A walk leader will plan and lead each day’s walk.
The Daybreak Walkers is a pilot project of Live Well Clover, the town’s active-living committee, organized to ccreate a healthy and active Clover community one step at a time. For details, contact Town Hall, 803-222- 9495.
Lake Wylie tour of homes scheduled
Visitors will tour six custom-designed homes and their gardens.
On the day of the event, a buffet luncheon will be served at the River Hills Country Club from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., with a strolling fashion show by Chico’s and the Mens’ Pro Shop. Cost is $16, payable in the dining room the day of the tour.
Tour tickets are $20, available at The Cleaners in Lake Wylie Plaza or by calling 803-831-0689. Tickets also will be sold at the River Hills Plantation security gate from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. the day of the tour.
Proceeds benefit the Fay Bergman college scholarship, to be awarded to one or more qualified Clover High School seniors in May.
