York Rotary adds new member
YORK Dr. Sylvia Chappell was inducted into the York Rotary Club on May 8.
Club president Matt Dover presented her with a membership certificate. Chappell is a veterinarian and the owner of White Rose Veterinary Clinic at 1420 E. Alexander Love Highway, York.
Coroner’s office plans drop-in
ROCK HILL The York County Coroner’s Office is hosting a drop-in meet and greet for anyone interested in becoming a C.A.R.E. Team member from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at 993 Heckle Blvd., Suite 103, Rock Hill.

Republican women to host social
CLOVER The Clover-Lake Wylie Republican Women’s Club will host a Mix & Mingle social event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 15 at Cherry restaurant and bar, 4034 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie.
Both men and women are invited to this informal political gathering. Special guest is state Rep. Ralph Norman.
Guests will be seated on the restaurant’s covered deck. Snacks will be provided with a cash bar available.

Historical society to honor veterans
FORT MILL York County Genealogical & Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. May 18 at Flint Hill Baptist Church, 269 Flint Hill Road.
Veterans from all wars from the Revolution through the mid-20th century will be honored. Graves of more than 200 veterans are located in the church cemetery.
The annual business meeting follows the program.
Clover walking group meeting
CLOVER The Clover Daybreak Walkers, a new walking club, will meet at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday and Saturday through June 14 in the parking lot of the Blue Eagle Academy.
The club is for beginners but everyone is welcome to participate. Registration is not necessary; just show up with walking shoes, comfortable clothing, water and sun protection. A walk leader will plan and lead each day’s walk.
The Daybreak Walkers is a pilot project of Live Well Clover, the town’s active-living committee, organized to create a healthy and active Clover community one step at a time. For details, contact Town Hall at 803-222-9495.
