Clover church offers coupon workshop
CLOVER Southern Savers is offering an Extreme Couponing 101 Workshop at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at Oakdale Presbyterian Church, 12585 S.C. 55 West, Clover.
Each workshop is a two- to three-hour class teaching consumers how to effectively use coupons to cut expenses. The workshops cost $10 per person, payable at the door.
SouthernSavers.com is a free, online resource that helps consumers save money on grocery and personal care items. The site offers a weekly list of items on sale at local grocery/drug stores and matches them with available coupons. The consumer checks the items he or she wants to buy and the website condenses items into a printable grocery list.

Handbell choir to perform in York
YORK The Musicality Ringers, a community handbell choir from Rock Hill, will be at York ARP Church at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept, 14.
This group, directed by Nancy Smith, is composed by five retired teachers, two active organists, one retired nurse and two retired business women.
St. Paul UMC plans ice cream social
CLOVER St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1550 St. Paul Church Road, Clover, will have an old-fashioned ice cream social 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20
The event will include hot dogs and homemade ice cream. Everyone is welcome.
Donations will be accepted.
Mount Vernon UMC plans food festival
HICKORY GROVE Mount Vernon United Methodist Church in Hickory Grove will host a fall food fest 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 in the church fellowship center.
A $7 buffet breakfast will be served 8 to 10:30 a.m.
Shopping from 8 to 11 a.m. will include a country store featuring homemade baked goods such as cakes, pies, cookies and breads.
The country store will also include a variety of canned jellies, pickles, chow chow and relishes. Frozen casseroles will also be available, including chicken, hamburger, baked spaghetti, grater tater, dressing and others.
Proceeds to go to local missions and the building fund.
Clover church plans kickball tourney
CLOVER Clover AME Zion Church will host a kickball tournament at 1 p.m. Sept. 13 at Clover’s Roosevelt Park.
