Longtime York chain crew member recovering
His son, Tim Hartsoe, said his father is home recovering from head and neck injuries.
“Our prayers are with Mr. Hartsoe,” said head football coach Bobby Carroll. “He is a York football icon.”
Hartsoe was inducted into the York School District Athletic Hall of Fame two years ago. He joined his son, a Hall of Fame member and president of the York Touchdown Club.
The Hartsoe family has close ties to York athletics. Kenny Hartsoe played baseball. His wife, Freida, is a longtime York football loyalist and former booster club organizer.
Tim Hartsoe played football, basketball and baseball in York. His brother, Dwayne, athletic director at Fort Mill High School, played baseball. Their sister, Renee, played basketball and softball.

YCHS swimmer qualifies for state
She’ll compete in the 200-yard IM, the 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard breaststroke and 500-yard freestyle at the University of South Carolina.
CHS girls’ tennis defeats Forestview
Singles: Clover’s Kaelen Fobes defeated Harriet Hall 6-1, 6-3; Clover’s Corey Brom defeated Sandra Duffie 6-3, 6-2; Clover’s Grace Miller defeated Linnea Jurs 6-1, 6-1; Clover’s Anna Miszkiewicz defeated Grace Stroupe 6-1, 6-0; and Clover’s Grace Huston defeated Allison Roney, 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles, Clover’s Tiffany Mendez and McKenzie Martin defeated Kelsey Brice and Reaganne Goode, 6-0, 6-3.
