LAKE WYLIE — An armed robbery was reported at 9:47 p.m. Sept. 10 at CVS, 4724 Charlotte Hwy. According to York County Sheriff's report, an undisclosed amount of money was taken, but most of it recovered in the store parking lot.
When York County Sheriff's deputy arrived, a store clerk said the suspect had left. The male suspect was wearing a red bandanna on his face, a black zip hoodie and black jeans.
A deputy reported finding money and other items in the parking lot. The K-9 team tracked the suspect to an apartment complex boat storage but lost the scent. Forensics processed items from the scene. Video of the incident is under review.
On May 12, there was an armed robbery at Lake Wylie Pharmacy at Shoppes at the Landing. The store opened at 9 a.m. when local pharmacist Larry Meek went to the back door after hearing a knock.
A man wearing all black and a mask covering his face demanded specific pharmaceuticals and money. He was armed with a chrome colored, semi-automatic pistol, the report stated. The suspect - a white man, about 5’10” with a slim build - has not been apprehended. A K-9 unit also was brought out, but lost the scent. No one was injured, and the pharmacy reopened at about 11:30 a.m.
