Financial Peace U. starts Oct. 1
The nine-week course provides families and individuals with practical tools to gain control of their finances and set themselves up for long-term financial success.
The course meets once a week for a lesson taught by Ramsey on DVD followed by a small-group discussion. Lessons include budgeting, relationships and money, getting out of debt, saving for emergencies and investing.

Oldies But Goodies Dance Sept. 26
Snacks and soft drinks will be served. There will be raffles, door prizes and 50-50 drawings.
Tickets cost $15. Seating is limited. Advanced tickets may be purchased at Bagel Boat and by calling 803-504-5040.
Kings Mountain UMC plans yard sale
The cost is $5 for a 12-by-12-foot space, and everyone is invited to participate. Those who want a yard sale space should come to set up at 6:30 a.m. Oct. 4.
There will be a bake sale in the church social hall. A breakfast of sausage biscuits and coffee will be sold and a lunch of hot dogs and drinks will be sold.
Proceeds go to mission projects of the church’s United Methodist Women.
