Kindergarten and Pre-K registrations
CLOVER -- Registration for all pre-kindergarten and kindergarten children will be held during the first week of March at all elementary schools. A child must register at the school in the attendance area in which he/she lives.
Parents can register their children 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, March 2, through Friday, March 6. An additional registration slot will be available Tuesday, March 3, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Head Start accepting applications
Carolina Community Actions Inc., Head Start is now accepting applications for children ages 3 and 4 for the 2009-'10 program year. Head Start serves children from low-income families and children with disabilities. For information on Head Start programs in York, call 684-2093; for Clover, call 222-0736.

Clover High School Black History Month Program
CLOVER -- The Clover High School Black History Month Program, "Celebrating the Past, Embracing the Future," will be at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 in the Clover School District Auditorium. York School District 1 would like to congratulate Susanna Alexander, daughter of William and Tammie Alexander, for winning the 2008-09 Scholarship from the South Carolina Association of Title One Administrators (SCATA).
Alexander will represent Region V, which includes York, Clover, Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Chester, Lancaster, Chesterfield and Kershaw school districts, and receive recognition during the prestigious awards banquet held in Columbia on March 24, 2009.
Clover High Band Fish Fry
CLOVER -- The Clover Bands Booster Club will hold a fish fry fundraiser March 7 and 8 at the Clover High School Cafeteria. The cost is $8 per plate for eat-in (all you can eat) or carry-out. Plates will be available 3-8 p.m. Saturday, March 7, and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday, March 8.
Tickets may be purchased in advance from any band or booster club member, and will also be available at the door.
Proceeds benefit the Clover Bands Booster Club.
Have coffee with the Superintendent
Dr. Marc Sosne, Superintendent for Clover School District, invites you to join him for coffee, Tuesday, March 10, at the Dilworth Coffee House in Lake Wylie.
He will be available from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. to talk to parents and members of the community about topics in public education that are important to them.

Zelnick the Magician at Clover
CLOVER -- Award winning magician, Zelnik the Magician, will entertain at the Clover School District Auditorium with his unique blend of family fun, comedy magic and audience participation, 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 3 in the auditorium located at 1625 Highway 55 East.
Greg Zelnik (Zelnik the Magician) will present master effects such as suspending an audience member in mid-air, floating a silver ball and sending ropes right through someone's body and much, much more during the 90 minute program.
The proceeds from this event will benefit the Larne Elementary PTO which is going to be a new school for 2009-2010 school year. This show is sponsored by the Bethel Elementary PTA and the Briggs Elementary PTO. Tickets will be available through either Parent Teacher Group and at the door for only $3.00.
Clover Choraliers Requiem
The Clover High School Choraliers will present Requiem by John Rutter at 7 p.m. on Palm Sunday, April 5, at First Presbyterian Church, 1621 East Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, N.C.
The event is a new addition to the 2009 concert season. Admission is $7 and seating is limited. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Reserve tickets when you download an order form at www.clover2.k12.sc.us/chs/choraliers/ChoraliersFront.htm, fill it out, and return it with your fee by mail to the Choraliers. Ticket requests will be processed in the order they are received.
