FORT MILL -- Dream Equine Therapy Center, an nonprofit organization based near York that rescues and rehabilitates horses to provide emotional support and wellness to the terminally and chronically ill, is holding a ride/walk-a-thon beginning at noon, Saturday, March 21 at the Anne Springs Close Greenway Field Trial Barn at 835 Springfield Parkway, Fort Mill. The event will include a cookout, DJ and raffle starting at 3 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the three riders/walkers who raise the most money through pledges and sponsors. Western York County Relay for Life has compiled a cookbook entitled "A Taste of Relay," consisting of 593 recipes from the 33 Relay teams of 2008.
Cookbooks are $15, and can be purchased from any team member, or through Lynda Crisp at 684-3199. Proceeds from the cookbooks go to the American Cancer Society to promote research and hope for cancer survivors and victims.
