Sheep Shearing at Brattonsville
McCONNELLS -- Saturday, April 18 is Sheep Shearing Day at Historic Brattonsville. Shearing, cleaning, carding, spinning and weaving demonstrations will run 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. An 1840s fashion show is also scheduled for 2 p.m.
The demos are free with general admission: $6 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, $3 for youth aged 4 - 17, and free for children younger than 3. Culture and Heritage Museum members get in free. For more information call (803)684-2327, or visit www.chmuseums.org.

LAKE WYLIE--The River Hills Home Tour takes place 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 25 within River Hills Plantation. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Jac-Lyn's Hallmark, 4082 Charlotte Hwy., or the day of at the River Hills main gate. Hospice & Community Care will present a volunteer training from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 25 at 2275 India Hook Road, Rock Hill. Provide support for a caregiver, assist customers in the Resale Shop or The Potting Shed, offer professional service assistance, become a Watchman Representative or more.

Cancer benefit for Medler April 26
TEGA CAY -- McHale's in Tega Cay, 1820 Gold Hill Road, will host a cancer benefit for Jane Medler of Clover from 1 to 6 p.m. April 26.
Several styles of music will be performed, including rock, rap, country, pop and contemporary blues. Children eat free. Activities include raffles, face painting, pinatas and games.

Take 'safari' to help CAAC
CLOVER -- The Clover Area Assistance Center will host its annual gala with "A Safari Adventure" theme from 7 to 10 p.m. May 14 at the Museum of York County's African Halls.
The evening will feature hors d'oeuvres, open bar and wine tasting provided by Lake Wylie Liquors.
