CHS girls soccer continues region success
CLOVER -- The Clover High School girls soccer team improved to 5-1 in Region 3-AAAA following last week's 2-0 win over Nation Ford.
Samantha Satterlee and Rachael Newmister each scored as the Lady Blue Eagles had 18 shots on goal to Nation Ford's four.
Earlier in the week, the CHS girls blanked Northwestern 4-0.

Newmister scored twice for Clover, the first goal unassisted and the second on an assist from teammate Alissa Pantuosco.
Kelsey Hamilton booted the ball through the net on an assist from Diana Eaton and Marian Marr assisted by Newmister.
York tennis team defeats South Pointe
YORK -- The York Comprehensive High School boys tennis team defeated South Pointe 4-3 last week.
Chris Suggs defeated Seth Cooke 6-2, 6-2 in No. 1 singles and Adam Thomas bested Conner McCoy 6-0, 6-1 in No. 5 singles.
In No. 1 doubles play, Suggs and Jensen Fisk prevailed 6-7 (5), 7-6 (2), 10-8. Patrick Burnett and Charley Lawson won handily (6-1, 6-1) in No. 2 doubles.
In earlier action, the Cougars fell to Lancaster 4-3 in a closely contested match.
Nathan Patrick defeated Eathan Dutton 2-6, 6-0, 10-5 in No. 4 singles. with Adam Thomas defeating Peyton Brumfield 6-4, 7-6 (6) in No. 5 doubles.
In No. 2 doubles play, Burton and Lawson bested Logan Plyler and Adam Wetstone 6-1, 6-3.
Clover boys defeat Nation Ford
CLOVER -- The Clover High School boys tennis team rolled past Nation Ford, 5-2.
Clover winners included: No. 1 singles, Chase Atieri, 6-0, 6-1; No. 2, Nick Deahl, 6-0, 6-2; No. 3, Will Decker, 6-0, 6-0; No. 4, Ken Long, 6-2, 6-1; No. 2 doubles, Burnett and Lawson, 6-1, 6-1.
Blue Eagles nudge South Pointe
CLOVER -- The Clover Blue Eagles defeated South Pointe 7-3 as Tommy Walkowiak picked up the win.
Clover led 3-0 after four innings and held on for the win.
Hayden Hendry had two hits for the Blue Eagles, including a triple. Stephen Niesley also had two hits.
Hendry is batting .404 for the season and Niesley .353. Chaztin Venezia is the Blue Eagles' leading hitter with a .440 average. Kris Thompson has hit five home runs.
YCHS golf team wins three-way match
YORK -- The York Comprehensive High School boys golf team defeated Northwestern and Fort Mill in a three-way match last week.
The Cougars won with a cumulative score of 164. The Trojans finished at 175 and the Yellow Jackets 179.
Individual scores for York included: Ryan Brandenburg, 39; Jacob Phillips, 40; Luke Lancaster, 42; and Daley Ballard, 43.
Body Makeover Aerobics
YORK -- York Parks and Recreation Department will begin a new exercise and fitness program in April. Body Makeover Aerobics is a combination of flexibility, strength, balance, aerobic conditioning, and lifestyle integration. Make your body stronger, leaner and healthier by learning to utilize all of your physical aspects of physical fitness. The program is for men, women, and children with adult supervision.
Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6 - 7 p.m., at the York Recreation Center on White Rose Lane. The cost is $30 per month.
Classes will be instructed by Lisa Bolin, licensed fitness specialist with the American Council on Exercise. Lisa is also York County's first professional female boxer.
