CLOVER -- Talmadge William "Pickle" Harvell, 77, of Kingsburry Road, died Monday, April 13, 2009, at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia, N.C.
The graveside service with Masonic Rites was held Thursday, April 16, at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with the Rev. John Gess officiating.
Mr. Harvell was born Feb. 3, 1932, in Gaston County, N.C., to the late Earl Wilkins and Bertha Lane Harvell. He was an Army Veteran and was retired from Duke Power.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Watts Harvell of Clover; daughter, Pam H. Glenn (Butch) of Clover; son, W. Jeffery Harvell of York; brothers, Boyce Harvell, Bobby Harvell and Danny Harvell, all of Gastonia, N.C., and Kenny Harvell of Clover; sister, Delphia H. Costner of Gastonia; grandchildren, Ashley Sabo and Shea Glenn; and great-grandson, Hunter Sabo.

CLOVER -- Denny K. Welbaum, 66, of 7035 Twinstreams Lane, died April 13, 2009, at home.
Funeral services were private.
Survivors are sisters, Joann Thompson of York and Sally Jo Oldham of Concord, N.C.; brothers, Jerry Welbaum of Lo Olivous, Calif., and Norman Welbaum of Elk Grove, Calif.

YORK -- Florence Carroll Kiser Smith, 84, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.
A graveside service was held Monday, April 20, at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York.

Michael was a son of Ernest E. Wallace and the late Beverly Gibson Collun.

YORK -- Bobby Caron McDowell, 60, of 5 Cartwright St., died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at his home in York.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, April 15, at Rose Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert G. Kirkland officiating.
A native of York, Bobby was a son of Robert and Sarah Lanier McDowell. He attended the Episcopal Church of Good Shepherd. He was former co-owner of Ivy Hill Shoppe in York.
He is survived by his parents, Robert and Sarah McDowell; brother, Steve McDowell and his wife, Rose all of York; and sister, Cynthia McCarley and her husband, John of Fort Mill.

BLACKSBURG -- George Laniear Falls, 81, of 1670 Piedmont Road, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill.
