The Catawba Scenic River Advisory Council invites the public to participate in a special meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 in the second floor conference room at the Catawba Regional Council of Government's office building in Rock Hill.
Findings of the planning charrette that took place in November will be presented. The 90-minute presentation will focus on the public comments gathered concerning the support and consensus on how to best manage the 30-mile stretch of the Catawba Scenic River.
The charrette was an intense final effort to build on the recommendations and accomplishments of the 1994 Catawba River Corridor Management Plan as well as the 20 year framework for support of the Catawba River.
The management plan will be guided by the Catawba Scenic River Advisory Council's mission statement: The mission of the CSRAC is to incorporate all interests and unite them in action to conserve the scenic character of the Catawba River and to provide a sustainable future that represents a viable balance for the river and her people.
