Anglers hit the water April 12 for the second event in the Thursday Night Tournament Trail with 44 boats on Lake Wylie.
“It was a little chilly during the tournament, well plum cold,” said tournament co-organizer Erwin Gaston. “But it was a clear night and for the most part, the fish were biting.”
Gene Webster brought in 16.36 pounds to scale for the win at Buster Boyd Access Area, and second went to Derek Lilly with 15.63 pounds.
Organizers Gaston and Jeremy Cabe begin event registration at 5:30 p.m. every week through August 30. Blast off is at 6:30 p.m. with weigh-in at 11 p.m. The Championship Fish-off will be held Sept. 7-8.
Never miss a local story.
The series is sponsored by A-1 Adams Bail Bond Agency, Lake Wylie Bait and Tackle, Shakey Head.Com, Jak’s Custom Baits, Koyote Fishing Tackle, Tru South Lures and The Great Outdoors.
