ROCK HILl -- The Arts Council of York County saw more than 200 people paint banners for the Center for the Arts communitywide public art project last year. Now, the council is asking local schools and community members to do it again.
This year's theme is "Art Works!" Submission deadline is Jan. 21.
Once designs are submitted, the Arts Council and a panel of judges from the community, will select designs to be translated onto banners to by hanged on East Main Street in Rock Hill. Only the outlines of the designs will be printed onto the banners.
The public is invited to visit the Center for the Arts, 121 E. Main St. Rock Hill, to add color to the banners from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 12. Call 803-328-2787 to sign up to paint.

The Center for the Arts will host the opening reception for the Banner Project from 6 to 8 p.m. March 12 in conjunction with the Youth Art Exhibit Opening. Banners will hang from lampposts from March 1 to May 1 on Main Street Rock Hill.
