I like plastic and truth
I am writing about the latest cartoon in the Sept. 2 issue of the Lake Wylie Pilot that strongly implies any use of plastic products directly ending up polluting the ocean. So true! Not really. Especially when one consider the facts about the percent of plastic recycled, the remainder going to controlled landfills not the ocean.
I recycle though. But who has time these days for facts or truth in this Twitter/Facebook/Selfie obsessed society.
Also, truth is admittedly very boring and absent of emotion that springs freely from subjective myths. That’s where the fun is – making things up!
Never miss a local story.
But the real problem is not with my paying attention to cartoonists for his twisted political views and their use of Albert Speer like methods (making lies into truth) to bring about a new socially engineered perception. I am the problem. I was trained in truth, logic and natures laws. And I like work, saving, investing, sacrifice and learning.
And I also think cartoons were meant to be funny and have some basis in fact. I am wrong, old or just plain not cool. Better to be cool, the world would say. I need to try and be liked by as many as possible. Not offend the politically correct set who might confuse truth about subjects with what they can imagine.
Oh well, I still like plastic and truth. So passé and hopeless am I. Indeed.
