Temple Kol Ami to hold High Holiday services
FORT MILL Temple Kol Ami will hold High Holiday Services at Unity Presbyterian Church, led by Rabbi Joseph Levanon and Cantorial soloist Sara Sherman.
Levanon served at Fayetteville’s Beth Israel congregation for 17 years and has been with Temple Kol Ami for one year. He is a renowned scholar and published author who has worked as a professor of Judaic studies at six universities.
Sherman is an accomplished musician who has performed all over the world. She has won awards and scholarships from music festivals worldwide.

FORT MILL Temple Solel, the Reform Jewish congregation, announces its High Holy Days schedule to be held at St. Philip Neri Church’s Community Room.
The schedule: 7 p.m. Sept. 24 Erev Rosh Hashana; 10 a.m. Sept. 25 Rosh Hashana, Tash Lich to follow; 7 p.m. Sept. 26 Shabbat Shuva; 7 p.m. Oct. 3 Kol Nidre; Oct.4 Yom Kippur, 9:30 a.m. children’s service, 10:30 a.m. morning service, 4 p.m. Yiskor, closing services following Yiskor, break-the-fast following closing services.

Oldies But Goodies Dance Sept. 26
LAKE WYLIE All Saints Knights of Columbus presents the fourth annual Oldies But Goodies Dance 7-10 p.m. Sept. 26 at River Hills Marina Pavilion featuring music by DJ Frankie the K.
Snacks and soft drinks will be served. There will be raffles, door prizes and 50-50 drawings.

Donate to Coats for Kids
LAKE WYLIE The Knights of Columbus Council and Respect for Life Ministry of All Saints Catholic Church are accepting donations for Coats for Kids to provide winter coats to children in need.
For $220, the groups can provide coats to 12 children in York County.
The Knights of Columbus began this initiative in 2009 to help families with children living in colder climates who were impacted by the economic downturn. Knights across the country have given away more than 167,000 coats. About 2,000 local Knights of Columbus councils have participated in their communities.
Last winter was a record year for the Order’s Coats for Kids program. During that time, 1,195 councils and the Supreme Council purchased and donated 51,924 coats.

LAKE WYLIE The Waffle House-Lake Wylie and Knights of Columbus of All Saints Council No. 14475 are raising money for Operation HOPE (Helping Other People Everyday), a statewide campaign to help people with intellectual disabilities.
