Financial Peace U. starts Oct. 1
The nine-week course provides families and individuals with practical tools to gain control of their finances and set themselves up for long-term financial success. The course meets once a week for a lesson taught by Ramsey on DVD followed by a small-group discussion. Lessons include budgeting, relationships and money, getting out of debt, saving for emergencies and investing.

Yard Sale for mission Oct. 4

Christ the King posts upcoming events

Artists invited to church Fall Bazaar
There are no entry fees, with a maximum of five entries per artist to be received 1-4 p.m. Oct. 22.
Art must be two-dimensional framed art or gallery wrapped canvas ready to be hung, with 60 percent of sales going to the artist and 40 percent to church missions.
Matted unframed art or shrink wrapped work including note cards, with 50 percent to the artist and 50 percent to church missions.
People’s Choice Awards will be awarded. First place will receive $100, second $75 and third $25. There will be three honorable mentions. Voting will be held after each Oct. 26 service.

Donate to Coats for Kids
For $220, the groups can provide coats to 12 children in York County.
The Knights of Columbus began this initiative in 2009 to help families with children living in colder climates who were impacted by the economic downturn. Knights across the country have given away more than 167,000 coats. About 2,000 local Knights of Columbus councils have participated in their communities.
Last winter was a record year for the Order’s Coats for Kids program. During that time, 1,195 councils and the Supreme Council purchased and donated 51,924 coats.
