Hussman named children’s ministry coordinator
Hussman’s experience includes volunteer teacher to director of childcare. She recently served eight years at Steele Creek Church of Charlotte.
She is a cast coordinator and actor for NarroWay Productions and serves on the Shanan Classical Co-op board.
She and husband Nathan have three children, Cory, 23, Sarah, 29 and Rianna, 13.
‘Duck Dynasty’ stars signing books
They will sign copies of their books, “UnPHILtered“ and “Miss Kay’s Duck Commander Kitchen.”
Also ongoing is Christmas at the Library through Dec. 23, guests can enjoy holiday favorites including horse-drawn carriage rides, Christmas story time, live music, a light display, live nativity scene and holiday shopping. Carriage rides are $7 per adult and $3 per child younger than 12.
A Christmas dinner, served at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association headquarters, is available Thursday-Saturday each week. Space is limited. Dinner is $18.95 per adult and $8.95 per child 12 and younger. Reservations required by calling 704-401-3200.
Library hours are 9:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Christmas activities begin at 5 p.m. Guests can pet animals from the live Nativity from noon to 2 p.m. each day.

Christmas concert Dec. 11 at Good Samaritan UMC
LAKE WYLIE Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, 5220 Crowders Cove Road, presents Joy and Christmas Concert at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 11. A luncheon follows.
A candlelight service will be 6 p.m. Dec. 24.
Pleasant Hill Church celebrates Advent
Each Sunday of Advent, a meal and a service will be held. There also will be singing of Christmas hymns, Scripture reading and lighting of Advent candles.
Dates are: Dec. 14, candle of the shepherds; Dec. 21, candle of the angels.

Donate to Coats for Kids
For $220, the groups can provide coats to 12 children in York County.
The Knights of Columbus began this initiative in 2009 to help families with children living in colder climates who were impacted by the economic downturn. Knights across the country have given away more than 167,000 coats. About 2,000 local Knights of Columbus councils have participated in their communities.
Last winter was a record year for the Order’s Coats for Kids program. During that time, 1,195 councils and the Supreme Council purchased and donated 51,924 coats.
