The Catawba Catfish Club held its fourth tournament of the season Dec. 13 on Lake Wylie with 43 boats launching and weighing in at Buster Boyd Access Area.
Organizer Marty Green said that sets a new lake record of anglers for the club. He said there were 98 paying anglers competing for a total pot of $1,960 and big fish pot of $430.
“We had cold temperature of 25 degrees greet us at the ramp today with clear skies and no wind,” Green said. “Temps rose quickly to a high in the low 60s for the day. Water temps were right at 50 degrees.”
There 37 boats who brought fish to the scales with a total weight of 1,876.90 pounds, Green said. Payout was for the first five spots.

Team Trophy Hunter of John Terry and Steve Whitley weighed three fish at 82.40 pounds to get the win and $784.
Team Cat Snatch Fever – Phil Rollings,Wes Rollings, Michal Thomas, Scott Edwards – took home the big fish pot with a blue weighing 46.55 pounds.
Team Reel Time – Marty and Jeff Green – took over the points lead by 1 point over Team Trophy Hunter.
Series sponsors are Boat Sales of Lake Wylie, Fish Bite Rod Holders, Jamie K Outdoors, Q2U BBQ Pit, Kangaroo Express and Pepsi.
The next tournament is Jan. 10 at Lake Wateree State Park. Time is 7 a.m.-3 p.m., with weigh in at 3:30 p.m.
