Championship set for April 24-26
Lake Wylie will host The Bass Federation National Championship, presented by the National Guard, April 24-26 in conjunction with the National Guard's other premier event, the National Guard Open on nearby Lake Norman, which runs April 24-27.
"It represents the best anglers in the country," said Dave Simmons, FLW Outdoors/BFL program manager. "Lake Wylie is an excellent fishery, and we've received good support from the community."
Daily takeoffs will be held at Copperhead Island Park, 15200 Soldier Road, Steele Creek. Anglers will weigh in each day at 3 p.m. at Charlotte Convention Center, 501 S. College St.
"Having TBF and FLW Tour anglers together, at the same event, on the same stage in Charlotte will certainly increase the already intense media spotlight that both tournaments command and both groups of anglers deserve," said TBF President Robert Cartlidge.
An official practice day will be held April 23, followed by three days of competition. The entire field of 36 boaters and 36 co-anglers will compete Thursday and Friday. The field will then be cut to the top boater and co-angler from each of the TBF's six divisions for Saturday.
