LAKE WYLIE -- River Hills Community Church is starting an 18 and older co-ed recreational volleyball program March 17 to run through May 26 in the Life Center gym. Camp Thunderbird hosting tourney
LAKE WYLIE -- Lake Wylie's YMCA Camp Thunderbird will host a friendly competition Disc Golf Tournament March 28 to introduce people to the sport. The camp's disc golf course is usually only open to paying camp participants. However, this tournament is open to the community. Entry fee is a $10 donation for the camp scholarship campaign to help children go to camp. There will be three competitions: longest drive, hole-in-one contest, and best match play. Lions golf tourney May 8
LAKE WYLIE -- River Hills Lions Charities Golf Tournament & Business Expo will begin with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. May 8 at River Hills Country Club. Rain date is May 15. Boxed lunch will be provided at 11:30 a.m. Cost: RHCC golf members, $100; non-members, $145. Practice range, refreshments on par 3 holes, and awards party food and drinks included in entry fee. Animal Adoption League will host its second annual Wishes for Whiskers Golf Classic on May 16 at Glen Oaks Golf Club, 245 Golf Course Road, Maiden, N.C. Shotgun start is at 1:45 p.m. Cost is $75 per golfer and includes eight holes, cart, driving range, lunch, dinner, raffle ticket and goodie bag.
