About 3,000 yet-to-be released cartoon DVDs have been stolen from a FortMill distribution center, according to a York County Sheriff’s Officeincident report.
The “Dragon Hunter” DVDs were taken this week from inside a trailer backedup to a garage door at PeaceArch Entertainment, 460 Greenway IndustrialBlvd., Fort Mill. The lock was broken on the trailer, said manager ChuckSmith.
“They just grabbed what they could get and took off,” Smith said. “They’regonna probably sell it at the Flea Market or something. They don’t need3,000 copies of the same title for their own use.”
The latest installment of “Dragon Hunter,” a European cartoon series, is setto be released on Feb. 24, the report states.
Smith said the DVDs are worth about $10 each. “It’s a good amount of moneyfor someone digging through dumpsters,” Smith said.
Since the incident, the center has added better locks and security cameras,Smith said.
PeaceArch, a Toronto-based distribution center ,has been operating in FortMill for about two years.
