U.S. Rep. John Spratt, D-York, secured $712,500 to build a roadway connecting highways 98 and 160 in Tega Cay. The funds were part of the omnibus spending bill for fiscal year 2009.
“This project will provide better access to I-77 and go a long way to ensuring that this area of the county continues to grow,” said Spratt in a press release. “I was pleased to help secure the funds.” Spratt said the “Hubert Graham Way” project involves the construction of approximately 3,500 linear feet of roadway including two travel lanes, one pedestrian walkway, and curb and gutter.
The project is on South Carolina’s State Transportation Improvement Plan.
